“When a flower doesn’t bloom, fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.” -Alexander Den Heijer
Health is deeply connected to the rhythms of nature and the flow of energy. Each season corresponds to specific elements, emotions and practices for balance. Summer is a time of expansion, joy, and outward activity but it must be balanced with cooling, grounding habits. By caring for your body-mind in the various seasons, you set the stage for strong immunity and steady energy all year long.
Summer Health Tips
Rise early and rest during the hottest part of the day. Mimic the sun’s cycle—wake with energy, and rest when it's strongest.
Eat light, seasonal foods. Favor cooling and hydrating foods like watermelon, cucumber, mung beans, and mint. Avoid overly spicy, greasy, or fried dishes.
Balance joy with calm. Too much stimulation or emotional excess can "overheat". Mindful breathing, meditation, or quiet time in nature helps us settle down.
Protect against external heat. Wear light, breathable clothing and protect your head and neck when out in the sun. Sudden transitions from heat to extreme cold (like going from a hot day into icy air conditioning) can shock the system.
Hydrate properly with electrolytes and or add a pinch of sea salt & lemon to your water to help restore lost minerals.
As summer fades, shift your attention to building your digestive strength with warm, cooked foods like rice, pumpkin, and root vegetables.
In the heat of Summer, we may also need a little help from nature’s remedies – here comes homeopathy:

Glonoinum 30C – For heat stroke or sunstroke symptoms like pounding headache, flushed face, and confusion.
